Yes — completely free, forever. No credit card, no trial period, no hidden tiers. We support the site through optional, non-intrusive ads.
Do I need to sign up?
No. You can save and organize prompts privately in your browser without any account. Sign in with Google only when you want to publish prompts publicly, vote, or sync across devices.
What's the difference between private and public prompts?
Private prompts stay in your browser only — nobody else can see them. Public prompts appear in the Explore feed where the community can view, copy, and vote on them. You decide which to share, and you can switch any prompt back to private anytime.
What AI tools does Promptbook work with?
Any of them. We support 14 specific models for organization: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Midjourney, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, Sora, Runway, ElevenLabs, Suno, and "Any Model" for prompts that work everywhere. Promptbook is just a library — the actual AI work happens on the AI tool's site.
What if I clear my browser data?
Private prompts are stored locally in your browser, so clearing browser data will delete them. Use the Backup button (sidebar footer) to export a JSON copy of all your prompts. Public prompts are stored in the cloud and stay safe.
Can others see my private prompts?
No. Private prompts live only on your device. Promptbook doesn't have a backend that stores them — even we can't see them. Only prompts you explicitly mark as "Public" are uploaded to our servers.
How does voting work?
Sign in with Google, then click 👍 or 👎 on any public prompt. You can vote once per prompt, but you can change your vote anytime. The Explore feed sorts by score (upvotes minus downvotes) so the best prompts rise to the top.
What are "variables" in prompts?
Anything wrapped in {curly_braces} is treated as a placeholder you'll replace later. They're highlighted in the prompt view so you can spot them at a glance and swap them out when you use the prompt.
Can I report inappropriate prompts?
Yes. Every public prompt has a Report button. Reports come straight to us and we review them. See our Terms of Service for what's not allowed.
Will my prompts be used to train AI?
No. Promptbook doesn't train AI models. Your private prompts never leave your browser. Public prompts are only shown to other users — we don't sell or share them with AI companies. See our Privacy Policy for details.
